How do I connect my overground pump?
- Use glue specifically for pressure PVC.
- Use sufficient Teflon tape on the thread seals. Wind the tape around the fittings clockwise.
- It is preferable to use plastic couplings for plastic (not steel or brass couplings).
- Place the pump as close to the water source as possible. It is good practise to use a pre-filter and, depending on the application, a filter at discharge.
- The suction pipe should be air-tight. If there is a leak anywhere, the pump will take in air causing the water to drop.
- A pump can be damaged by frost, even if it is light frost, so please store the pump indoors or make sure the pump cannot freeze up after every sprinkling season.
