Rain Bird Decoders provide state-of-the-art technology which utilise lower than 30V using a 14-gauge two wire paths for connecting the central control system, decoders and valves or valve-in-head sprinklers, thus aiding the controlling of sprinklers in large area irrigation systems like that of a golf course. The decoders are generally waterproof modules, which can be buried directly and can be easily connected to sprinklers in one end and 24VAC solenoid valves on the other end. The decoders come with many pros like reduction in cost associated with burial of on-field controller, reduction in length of wiring compared to conventional controller system, pre-coded addressing for eliminating confusion based upon switch-based addressing, protection from damages due to floods, frost, rodents or vandals etc. With the use of Rain Bird’s Decoder Programming Unit (DPU), decoder addresses can be reassigned as per the requirement. The decoders come with single or multiple programs and can support up to 6 solenoid valves.
